Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 8 oz (225g) pasta (such as fusilli, penne, or farfalle)
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 oz (225g) fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini), halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside to cool.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano (if using). Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, halved cherry tomatoes, halved mozzarella balls, and torn basil leaves. Pour the dressing over the top and gently toss to coat everything evenly.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Customize with your preferred pasta shape or add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein. This salad tastes even better the next day, making it a great make-ahead dish.
