Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 large tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Place the thinly sliced tomatoes on top of the cheese, overlapping slightly. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for the best flavor. Pat the tomato slices dry with a paper towel before placing them on the tart to remove excess moisture. Customize your toppings with other vegetables like zucchini or bell peppers for extra flavor and color. Serve warm for the best experience.
