  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty about ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly and prevent puffing up.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat or preheat grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F, avoiding pressing down on them while cooking.
